Research and development
Processing co-product valorisation is a major theme for Merinov R&D activities. Its research teams carry out projects to develop fractioning processes and make use of the functional properties of extracts of marine origin. Merinov is also interested in new food conservation approaches using natural antimicrobial agents and specific lactic flora. Strengthening the healthy nature of marine products is also a component of the research program. The projects aim to improve their nutritional value and analyse product-related claims. Merinov remains abreast of technological innovation and development. It supports efforts to market underexploited marine species and adapts new packaging and aquatic product conservation processes. |
